Hot Rod Bio: 1958 C1 Corvette Restomod at SEMA 2024 Featuring CVF Serpentine

A Classic Corvette with a Modern Foundation
SEMA is always packed with standout builds, but this 1958 C1 Corvette from Flat Out Autos immediately stopped us in our tracks. Sitting low, clean, and purpose built, this resto mod blends classic Corvette styling with modern performance in all the right ways.
Custom SRIII Chassis and Driving Position
Flat Out Autos built this C1 on a custom SRIII chassis designed specifically to drop the floor five inches. That change transforms the driving position and overall feel, giving the car a completely different driving dynamic compared to most C1 builds.

LS Power with a Driver Focused Transmission
Power comes from a Blueprint LS3 based 427 cubic inch engine producing 625 horsepower. It is backed by a Tremec TKX five speed, making this car very much a driver focused build rather than a trailer queen.
Engine Bay Details and CVF Wraptor System
The engine bay features a polished and painted Brian Tooley intake to finish off the LS platform. To complete the front of the engine, Flat Out Autos installed a CVF accessory drive with our drop kit. Fitment was spot on and the system bolted up clean with no issues.
Modern Suspension and Braking
Suspension is fully modern using C7 Corvette components front and rear. Viking coilovers sit at all four corners, paired with factory C7 spindles and brakes, making future service and upgrades simple.
Independent Rear Suspension
The rear of the car features independent rear suspension based on C7 Corvette hardware. This setup allows the car to sit low while maintaining excellent ride quality and handling.
Classic Wheels with a Period Correct Look
Wheel and tire selection was handled by Curtis Speed, with custom built wheels wrapped in Diamond Back Classic tires. The white line styling ties perfectly into the vintage Corvette look while supporting modern performance.

Bentley Inspired Interior
Inside, the interior takes inspiration from the owner’s Bentley daily driver. Hides leather was used throughout, including custom stitched seats with correct embroidery patterns, all finished in a cream color that elevates the entire build.

A True Driver Built to Be Used
This C1 Corvette is a perfect example of how modern driveline components, smart chassis design, and clean accessory packaging can turn a classic car into a true driver. We were proud to see our CVF system on display as part of such a well executed build.
