Build Your Power Steering & Cooling Connections
Power Steering Line Kits, Hoses & Fittings
Choose a line kit for your reservoir arrangement, or select individual hoses, hose ends and adapters for a custom installation. Confirm the connections at your pump and steering gear, then plan hose lengths and fitting angles around your engine bay. Match hose and hose ends by construction, size and pressure rating.
Power Steering Pressure Reducing Valves
Match pump output to the requirements of your steering system. Pressure reducing valves are specific to the pump and application, so confirm your pump model and steering gear requirements before choosing a valve.
AN Cooling Adapters & Thermostat Housings
Connect your cooling system with AN radiator and water pump adapters, adapter clamps and thermostat housings. CVF AN adapter clamps convert compatible barb-style radiator or water pump outlets to AN connections without welding. Check the outlet dimensions and selected adapter's requirements before ordering.
For an AN thermostat connection, explore our -16AN straight thermostat housing and -20AN straight thermostat housing. Select the correct engine application, outlet size and finish on the product page.
Power Steering & AN Plumbing FAQs
Which power steering line kit do I need?
Start by identifying whether your pump uses an attached reservoir or a separate remote reservoir. Then compare the kit's included adapters and hose lengths with your pump, steering gear and planned routing. These configurations use different plumbing arrangements.
Does a universal fitting work with every engine?
Universal plumbing parts are selected by their connection specifications. Verify AN size, thread size, sealing style and intended use. For thermostat housings and engine-mounted adapters, also confirm the mounting pattern and selected engine application.
Can I convert radiator or water pump outlets to AN without welding?
Yes. CVF AN adapter clamps provide a conversion for compatible barb-style outlets without welding. Measure your outlet and compare it with the selected clamp's fitment specifications.
Can I use the same hose for power steering pressure, return and cooling lines?
Choose hose for its specific job. Verify pressure and temperature ratings, fluid compatibility and the required hose-end construction. Matching AN sizes alone does not establish that a hose and fitting combination is suitable for the application.
How do I choose a power steering pressure reducing valve?
Identify your pump model and confirm the pressure requirements specified for your steering gear or rack. Choose a valve listed for that pump and application. GM Type II and Saginaw P Series valves should be selected using their individual product requirements.
