Rockford Paint & Body’s Catalog Built 1976 Chevy Square Body

When you think of a full restoration, you usually picture an original frame, maybe a salvaged cab, and a long list of factory parts. But for Rockford Paint & Body, this square body Chevy was built entirely from the ground up, piece by piece.
Rockford and his crew started with nothing more than frame rails sourced from Facebook Marketplace. Everything else, from bumper to bumper, came straight out of a catalog. Every panel, every piece of sheet metal, was welded together in house to create what Rockford calls a “2025 1976.”
“Everything on the truck is aftermarket,” Rockford explains. “We built the cab, the bed, everything. It’s a full AMD catalog build.”

Under the hood sits a 6.0 LS iron block that originally came out of a Krispy Kreme delivery truck, now completely rebuilt and topped with a CVF Front Runner system. Power runs through a 4L80 transmission from Fenix Transmissions, while Quick Performance handled the front and rear differentials. A 4 inch BDS lift, Detroit Steel wheels, and BFG tires keep it true to its classic stance, simple, clean, and functional.
“It’s not a race car,” Rockford says. “It’s built for fun. We wanted something period correct that makes people smile.”

Inside, the attention to detail is just as impressive. The interior, crafted by Ko Ko Custom Upholstery in Salt Lake City, blends modern tech with vintage design. CNC cut aluminum accents, 3D printed parts, wireless charging, and custom storage pockets make it as practical as it is stylish. The use of Dixon flannel material adds a perfect touch of texture and attitude.
And yes, that brilliant white interior was a bold choice.
“At first we thought, no way, it’ll be impossible to keep clean,” Rockford laughs. “But with the bright paint and graphics, white just fit. Now I couldn’t imagine it any other way.”
It’s the kind of truck that makes you stop, stare, and smile, just as Rockford intended.
