What does the CVF warranty cover, and how do I make a claim?

Orders and Warranty

CVF Motorsports provides a limited lifetime warranty to the original retail purchaser. There are three conditions you have to meet, and registration is the one people miss.

Overview

Short Answer

Register your product at cvfracing.com/warranty within 90 days of purchase, including the VIN of the vehicle it is installed on. Without registration, the limited warranty does not apply.

What is covered

The limited warranty covers products that, after inspection by CVF Motorsports, are found to have a defect in material or workmanship.

What is not covered

  • Damage caused by misuse, abuse or improper installation, or any cause not directly related to a defect in materials or workmanship
  • Oxidation and cosmetic issues. The warranty applies to the mechanical function of the product only
  • Damage to the engine or other parts that may have been caused by a defective product
  • Labor charges and other incidental costs
  • Belts, hardware and third party components such as Mechman alternators, Vintage Air and Old Air systems. Those carry their own manufacturer coverage. Full details are on our warranty page

The three conditions

1

Register the product with CVF Motorsports, online or in writing, within 90 days of purchase, including the VIN of the vehicle the product is installed on.

2

Contact us before returning anything. Some claims need the part sent back and some do not, so open a ticket on our contact page and we will tell you what to do with the part.

3

State the alleged defect in writing with reasonable specificity.

If all three are met and we determine the product is defective, we will repair or replace it within sixty days of that determination, at our sole election and cost.

Other terms worth knowing

  • The warranty is not transferable. It applies to the original retail purchaser only.
  • It applies only to the vehicle the product is registered to.
  • Returns are separate from warranty. If you want to send a product back rather than claim on it, see our return policy, then open a ticket on our contact page.

Full terms

The complete warranty language is section 11 of our terms: cvfracing.com/cvf-terms-and-conditions. That document governs. This page is a plain language summary.

Wear items and older installations

For components with a service life, such as gas shocks on a hinge kit, an idler pulley, or a power steering pump, coverage is reviewed by our team rather than set by a published table. Write in with your order number, the install date and photos, and we will tell you where you stand.

How to start a claim

1

Confirm the product is registered at cvfracing.com/warranty.

2

Email contact support with your order number, the install date, and a written description of the defect.

3

Include clear photos or a short video. If the failure damaged other parts, photograph those too, and tell us how long the part had been in service.
